Hello Forum,

I'm writing today to build a PC with a $700 budget. Most of the time, it'll be used for casual gaming and sometimes video editing. I was wondering if I could build a PC for around $700 Canadian dollars. OS not included. It would also help if the shipping was included but that isn't really necessary. The budget is pretty tight so I'm seeing if I could get the most bang for the buck.

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Next week

Budget Range: 600-700

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Casual Gaming, Web Sufing, Light Video editing/ Photo work

Are you buying a monitor: Yes, preferably (read below)

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.ca, ca.pcpartspicker.com (any canadian pc website)

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Parts Preferences: None

Overclocking: Possibly

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050

Additional Comments: Right now the monitor I have is pretty bad, after my first PC broke down, I switched to laptop before coming back and deciding to build a PC. I could buy a new monitor but my budget cap is strict so, I'm not very sure. It is an Acer x223w with only 1 DVI-D input and 1 VGA input.

Thanks.

The Intel build is all the latest technology including DDR4 RAM . It will game well , and will use less power . Its a micro-ATX build so it will take up less space . Gaming will be good with your current monitor , and it may be the best choice for many image editing programs .It can not be overclocked

The AMD build is more powerful and will usually be better in multiplayer games when there are large numbers of people in the map . Not hugely better , but better none the less . The tech is older and nearing the end of its life . Overclocked it is still great value for money

You can check out this build i made for my brother, I'm located in Toronto, Ontario so for the Newegg purchases I can just drive to the warehouse to get the items and not have to pay for shipping costs. No monitor included in this build though. I do remember seeing a 24" Acer with hdmi for $150, just can't remember which website. If you get one without hdmi then you can probably find one for $100. But since you have a monitor already just live with that, save up and get a nice monitor.
