Solution D D daswilhelm Nov 14, 2015 if you are cleaning off old thermal paste, yes. if its a new cpu, and you didnt touch it, no.

Metal to metal contact is the best with a heatsink.... just apply a thin film with your finger to both the CPU and heatsink... don't use the whole tube. Upvote 0 Downvote
