So im kind of confused in the matter. Im planning to upgrade my psu so i was confusing how to keep myself grounded. To my understanding you clip the anti static wrist band to the case and you go to work about uninstalling the psu.

So this is where i get confused about grounding yourself. With the psu removed and about to replace it with a new one, is there a chance of any static build up? Because when the psu is removed and disconnected from the mains, does the whole case start to build up static or does it remain grounded until i install the psu?

Also when the new psu is installed, do i have to plug it in and turn the psu on and off again and leave it off (turning it off by the switch at thr back of the psu) whilst plugging all the connectors to their respected ports? And throughout the process would i still remain grounded to the case?

I know i won't build as much static to destroy any important part but when trying to cable manage around the motherboard, i want to be sure and confident that there's much of a risk of shocking my motherboard or anything.

Another question when handling a gpu from straight out of the box should i still be attached to the case or disconnect from the case and insert the case?

Thanks in advanced

The best way is not to do it on carpet for one. Ground your self or keep touching the case intermittantly to not build up static.
After you removed your old psu install the new one doing the same thing. Do not plug the new psu into the wall untill your done installing it completely.
After you have installed it and connected all the power cables(internal power cables) video drives m/b and such.; Stop recheck that all connectores are seated then plug the psu into the wall.
Then turn the switch on in the back
Then try to start the system from the power button. If it all goes well your set. If not there are several guides on here for trouble shooting.
