Because I found out that the AMD Radeon R7 370/360 isn't actually compatible with my motherboard (no display), I don't want to buy another one before I actually know which ones I am able to buy...
If anybody is able to give me a list of cards, that will be extremely helpful.
Specs:
Mobo: IPISB-CU (with one PCIe x16 slot)
CPU: Intel Core i3-2120
PSU: 650-watt CoolerMaster G650M
RAM: 6GB DDR3 memory

Thanks for any help.

Since you already returned I guess it is too late to test.. Most 700 and 900 series Nvidia cards will have the same problem, they all have UEFI BIOS's you have to make sure it has dual bios with Legacy BIOS support. Hp does sell "special" cards that will work but they tend to be older and over priced..
You have to get a video card that has legacy BIOS support (not UEFI) or a hybrid one with dual bios's (one for legacy and one for UEFI) What exact brand and model AMD Radeon did you get because some have dual bios's but you have to you a selector switch to use the legacy bios.

I have the newest BIOS version, but it still does not work...

Have you by chance tried both BIOS's http://www.sapphiretech.com/catapage_pd.asp?cataid=70&lang=eng shows how to switch between them toward the bottom of the page.. It might be worth a shot..

Hmm... there's one problem... I already returned it... if I do re-purchase it, I'll give it another shot, but for now, I'm just interested in a list of compatible cards (in case there are better ones).

Also Tradesman (and potentially ultroz),
are all Nvidia cards BIOS compatible?

What about cheap 600s (or 500s if necessary)? I'm not a big spender after all...

The main thing is to check and see if it is a UEFI BIOS or Legacy BIOS.. The 500 and 600 series should work but some do have so called hybrid BIOS's that work with both UEFI and Legacy BIOS. I almost think that the R7 360 would have worked if the BIOS switch was in the right position but hard telling without testing it, it is the same with the other cards, you won't know 100% till you test them because of HP being greedy and trying to force people to buy their overprice POS cards..

Mhmm I see...
So for future reference, the key factors are to look for Power consumption, size, and BIOS compatibility among others, right?
And I don't think the 370 had a hybrid switch on it... spent a good time analyzing it

Yes look at all those factors before buying.. On sapphire they kinda hid the switch in plain sight as a push button with their logo on it... If you looked at the link I had in my above post it shows it quite clearly but too late now anyways...

I also want to ask: is a GTX 960 compatible with the legacy? I can't find much sources so I hope you could help...
(I know I said I'm not a big spender but apparently this is a cheap one)

I did a little digging and some of them will because they have a Hybrid Bios that works with both UEFI and old BIOS types but you have to make sure it has it because UEFI only will not work 100%, however nothing is 100% till you test it, your board in particular seems to be quite picky.. Here is a site that has a list of video cards that may be compatible http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/HP/HP_IPISB-CH2_%28Chicago%29/1627/Compatible_GPUs but once again I think that the newer card will have to have the dual bios (one UEFI and one legacy) or the Hybrid BIOS that some Nvidia cards have.

I'm planning on buying a Zotac GTX 960 AMP! but I can't find any articles talking about compatibility of legacy BIOS.
Also, according to your link, I'm guessing that a 660 Ti will also be compatible (in case the 960 isn't).
