GTX 950 eVGA on Core 2 quad

So i am looking for a eVGA GTX 950 SSC and i got an GTX 280 in my PC right now. Will the GTX 950 work on my pc? I got a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2,83 Ghz, mobo is G41C-GS.

you'll have some bottlenecking going on but it's not a bad upgrade path GPU wise. If you could get a good overclock on your CPU you would be that much better. I was able to get a q6600 and a q9400 to 4ghz on water cooling back in the day. If you could get such an over clock...even 3.8ghz or better would do...you would not be bottlenecking to hard.

I'd go with the GTX 950 unless you plan on upgrading your CPU and motherboard soon. If you did plan on upgrading soon get the best card you can afford as your new CPU will likely not be a bottleneck and in the interim you could get the best frame rate your CPU can crank out.

I will probably upgrade in July 2016, so still GTX 950? Cause i will be playing alot of games and program stuff, will it be any better? Thank you for answering

if you plan on carrying your GPU over to your new build then I would consider something more powerful, but understand until you do upgrade some of that power will go untapped. I'd make the jump to a GTX 960 or better if you can afford it. what's your budget for your GPU upgrade?
