Hi there,
I have the following build:
Mobo: Asus Z170-A
CPU: I5 6600K
GPU: Saphire R9 390 Nitro
Display: Philips Plasma TV
PSU: Cooler Master V 850

The integrated graphics works fine. I have installed Win 10 and updated the BIOS.
But when I install the GPU - I get a black screen, no POST, BIOS etc.
The fans are spinning, the PSU is more than capable and cables are plugged in :)
It seems the TV receives a single from the GPU, because the screen goes completely black after startup, otherwise the TV shows a message that it expects input from the HDMI 1 port.
After one of the many restarts it actually showed me a snapshot from the shutdown screen. So it did render something ... but nothing useful.
When the R9 is installed the IGP is not running - there is no output from its HDMI port.

What I tried so dar:

  • Reset the CMOS.
    Updated BIOS.
    Updated drivers.
I have configured the BIOS to use the PCIe card and disabled the IGP when there is another GPU installed.
Uninstalled the IGP drivers and disabled it from Windows.
Tried inserting the GPU in different ports.
Any other ideas?
I will send the GPU to be tested tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure the problem is elsewhere.

Solution
So it finally worked.
I suspected my PC was actually booting and Windows was starting, I just couldn't see anything.
So I connected with Remote Desktop and installed the Catalyst drivers.

P.S. Can I somehow set this thread as Resolved?
