Ok. Well I'm looking to upgrade a few parts of my computer to be specific. The motherboard,RAM,processor, and heat sink. I'm nervous about doing this because I'm not sure how that will effect my windows and I certainly do not want my computer to blow up. Can you guys give me any tips before I replace these parts?

Lol your pc certainly won't blow up

before buying parts and start building you MUST do research on system requirements for cpu support, ram support on motherboards, and which type of build you want (amd or intel). it is mandatory that you do research on that..any cpu would not work on any board and there are tonz of different cpu socket and board..

if you want something that will fit haswell chips you will need motherboard that support haswell chips ...for example a motherboard with LGA 1150 socket.. it is important that you know which motherboard to buy.. also heatsink is important.. some chips run hotter than some..if you plan on regular gaming most people would suggest cooler master hyper evo but there's other great heatsink that outperforms the evo like the cryorig h7

I have a custom built PC atm and I will be running an AMD processor.
The specs I have atm are.

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
8GB DDR3 1333
Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX500)
EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti with G-SYNC Support 2GB GDDR5 128bit, Dual-Link, DVI-I, HDMI, DP Graphics Card (02G-P4-3751-KR)
No Idea what kind of heatsink I have installed atm.

All of which I will be replacing except the graphics card maybe.

I don't plan on overclocking just yet. But thank you very much for the tips and suggestions. Do you think ill have any issues replacing the parts or can I do a normal installation and I wont have any issues with windows and such.

Advice from a fellow member

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1739440/reinstall-windows-changing-motherboard.html

so i guess you will have no choice but to re-install..

one the bright side you can back up your important files before you start building and then transfer them over
