AMD dual graphics question. I have an a10-7870k paired with the r250 2GB from gigabyte. My bios is set to pci express with onboard enabled and my monitor is plugged into the graphics card and everything is great until I install the latest July graphics drivers. When that happens and everything is updated I have to use the motherboard graphics card and the system seems to use the graphics card as an extra. I always thought that it would be the other way around and you would get better performance in dual graphics plugged into the graphics card?

So the options in my BIOS are a tad different but I have igp set to enabled, I have the gfx set to pcie and not integrated. I don't have anything that says dual graphics or multi monitor in the BiOS. It all works as long as I used the asrock drivers from their website, but the updated amd ones force switch to integrated with the pcie card as support. I don't necessarily mind but I thought having the pcie card was better in dual hybrid and having the igfx slaved?

Assuming you have decent RAM (1866 or 2133), your APU will have about the same performance as an R7 250, and it does not matter which your monitor is plugged into.

Also, have you made sure that Crossfire is still enabled in CCC?
