Hi all

I just upgraded my monitor to 24". My system was playing GTA 5 fine on a 19" monitor until the upgrade and the higher resolution. I don't play anything more demanding than GTA 5 but this may change and i'm looking to upgrade to cope with the changes.

So my question is:- is it worth upgrading my gfx card or will my system cause bottleneck? Which card would be best?

I have the following
Quad Core 9550
8GB Ram
Asus p5Q pro turbo
5770 x2 (crossfire)
I have a good 750w power supply.

I've not paid attention to components for a long time so not sure what i'm looking at. My budget would be £150 maximum. I've seen the R9 380 4gb and it seems to be a good card (also seen a 2gb version) is it compatible with my system? I assume the more vram the better when trying to play things at higher resolution and high settings.

Thanks for any help

Be careful here. Have a older i7 2600 HP built machine with a HD 6850 card I put in it 4 years ago. PCI-e gen 2 slots x 16. Tried PCI-e gen 3 cards in in it of three different makes and none of em would boot cuz even though gen 3 cards are supposed to be backwards compatible with gen 2 slots the cards wouldn't work cuz the BIOS was out of date. A head scratcher til I figured it out.
So I built a new X99 machine with this card. My review is the first one.
