Help with upgrading RAM? :)

Hi all, I have a quick question with my RAM. I am currently rocking the
G.Skill 16GB Kit (4x4GB) DDR4 Ripjaws Red C15 2400MHz. I would love to add 16GB of the same RAM, so have 8x4GB, but nowhere seems to sell that kit anymore. But I have found the same ram, same frequency but 4x8GB of RAM.

So if I added my old RAM with the new ram I get 48GB. My question is, because some of the strips are 4GB, and some are 8GB, would they be compatible?

:)

Obviously an X79 - but which one and which CPU - regardless, there's no guarantees when mixing DRAM, especially when talking two 4 stick sets. Even if you had an identical set chances wouldn't be real high. Best to simply get a 4x8GB set then could try adding the old to it. If you try and have problems, give me a shout and we can try some timing/voltage adjustments
