Hi,

I'm still using a 955BE clocked @3.6ghz with a decent cooler, I recently bought a r7 360 OC which is ok, but I have a friend of mine who's selling his GTX 760 to me for a very good price. My previous card is a GTX 660ti which died a couple of months ago, I have experienced bottlenecking on that gpu with my 955be but im not sure if its really bottlenecking or it is because that time im still using a 4gb ram. I can play AC Black Flag, Tomb Raider and BF4 at that time in ultra settings but with stutterings. (I don't know if 660ti can max out TR when paired with a great CPU)

My question is, how bad will be the bottleneck with a 760 @3.6hz? will I get significant increase on frame rate even bottlenecked compared to r7 360 OC? I'm gaming on a 900p resolution.

Here's my full specs:

Phenom II X4 955BE 3.6ghz
Sapphire r7 360 OC
8gb Kingston Hyperx (downclocked to 1333mhz)
Emaxx 880G FXN
1TB WD Blue
FSP Raider 650w

Well your cpu is getting long in the tooth I don't think you will see much if any bottlenecking with the 760 now if you put a much faster gpu in such as a r 290 or a 970 or 980 or r 390 the higher end cards you will start to see it then because of your older setup.

Overclock your Cpu to 4.0 to help a bit more best way to test if with a cpu demanding game or a non optimized game like dying light or project cars if you see gpu utilization in the 90's you should be fine and your cpu shouldnt bottleneck it by much if your friend can let you test it before you buy it try it.

Thanks for the insights, I think I'll stick to my current card if it can play Fallout 4 @ medium 900p, if im going to upgrade I'll get a cheap i5 1st and a new mobo, I still wanna hear it from a 955BE user with a 760 or equivalent card.
