I'm looking to get an Asus Z170-A for a skylake build but I've been wary due to bad reviews on Newegg. It would be nice if those who have experience with this board give me your general thoughts on it.

Solution
Suggestion: Don't look at Newegg reviews.

Reason is that customer reviews usually are from people who had a negative experience with the motherboard. Most people that got a working board are not even bothered to leave a review. And when the topic is about a very popular motherboard, typically there will be more complaints about some DOA's. Every motherboard has a chance of DOA really.

Look at proper reviewers, who have a working motherboard.

Very solid motherboard. Personally I've done 2 builds with them so far and absolutely no issues. Great board.

Also, the majority of those reviewers are people who really have no business building a system due to a lack of proper DNA or lack of building experience and they've done something wrong that created their own problem. The Z170-A is a good board. So is the Gigabyte Z170-Gaming 5. Things just go up in quality from there but those are the two boards I'd be looking at if you don't want to spend any more than necessary.
