I was first cosidering getting the evga SSC ACX 2.0 GTX 950, but every time i've mentioned it to anyone, or searched for feedback everyone always says get the 960 instead.. I'm gaming at 1600x900 so is it REALLY worth the extra 40$? The 950 i'm planning on already has a slight OC

Just stick with the 950 if your not playing at 1080p i could never game at 1600x900
you should get a 1080p you would see a massive improvement in your gaming experience

As an approximation, Cost of GTX960/cost of GTX950 is how much better the GTX960 is.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.
My take is that if you have the budget, buy the stronger card. If you do not, you will forever wonder if you made a mistake.
