So I'm going to be ordering my pc parts wednesday and I would like to know what card would be better for me. I was originally looking at a 960 4GB model but then my friends told me to get a 970 or a 980. But the 970 has a vram issue and most of the games I want to play on max settings 1080p use over that 3.5gb of vram. So I was led to the 980 and this card is pushing my budget a lot. But would it be worth the extra $300 to go from a 960 4GB to a 980? I mainly want to play games like Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, Starwars Battlefront, etc on this pc.

Here are the specs of my pc build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QDByhM

For gaming at 1080p the GTX 970 is one of the best cards you can get. It would be a solid upgrade from the 960, and still have 4GB of VRAM. Here is one of the best 970 models, which will run about $100 more than your 960:

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card ($319.99 @ B&H)
Total: $319.99

The GTX 980 really doesn't improve enough upon the GTX 970 to justify its current price. Most people who are considering the GTX 980 either settle for the 970 or jump all the way up to the GTX 980ti.

I'm mainly looking at EVGA for cards though, they have great customer support, is this card good too? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G2HZ4317&cm_re=EVGA_GeForce_GTX_970_04G-P4-2974-KR_4GB_SC_GAMING_w%2fACX_2.0%2c_Silent_Cooling_Graphics_Card-_-14-487-076-_-Product

Yes, that is also a very good choice. I agree with soakka as well, for the extra $10 the ACX+ has a nice boost clock over the plain ACX model.

EVGA is a very good GPU manufacturer, and as you are aware, has superior service. I've never had any issue with the EVGA cards I've owned.
