Hello,

I got the HP Compaq Elite 8300 Small Form Factor as a gift. Everything seems decent (Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM) , except for the graphics card, which is Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Can I replace it with a new graphics card? I've heard that it's Integrated, meaning that it's with the processor and I couldn't replace it.

If that's the case, is it possible to add a dedicated graphics card? If so, how do I do it? You see, I'm quite new to PCs.
And also, what do you think would be the best card to fit into the SFF?

Are there any other cards that can fit or am I stuck with the GT 610? I want to maximize it all-out.

EDIT: I just did a bit of searching and I realized that there are required system power to use certain cards. I also searched for more Low-Profile cards and found the GT 740 the most appealing, although I need to replace my Power Supply. The one I have right now has 240 W, and the minimum required for the 740 is 400W.

So, here's the question, is there anything wrong in my plans? I don't want to waste money for nothing.

Is the 740 enough? And what would you recommend for a 400W power supply?

Sorry for the outburst of questions. I'm new and still curious at the PC world.
