I recently bought a Asrock 990FX Killer Fatal1ty motherboard and when i try to plug my external hdd in via USB 3.0 and when I start a file transfer it goes good (150MB/s) for about 3 seconds then it stops and the HDD is removed from My computer because Windows thinks i have removed the drive, although the same HDD in USB 2.0 works fine

I know its a driver issue as the device shows up initially then disappears
Anybody know why this is happening and a way to fix it

Hi there jpard1234,

Do you have USB 3.0 ports on the back of the computer case? In case you do, you can attach the drive over there and see if the issue persists.
Apart from that, you can just go to your MOBO's website and reinstall/update your USB 3.0 drivers.
