my usb is kingston 2gb g3 write protected i tried all things tell me another method how to fix it

Hey there, Ahmed.

Since I don't know what were the methods you've already tried, here's an article with a few options on write-protection removal: http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Write-Protection. You could also try doing that via a different computer, to see if the same thing happens. If you don't need to recover data from that flash drive, you could try reformatting it via Disk Management or one of the formatting tools which some manufacturers offer for their devices.

Hope that helps. Let me know how everything goes.

I've had the same problem with "several" usb and SD flash drives over the last few years. I have a drawer full of them (all brands and sizes) that I have had to decommission because: they've lost most of their available space; no files can be deleted from them or modified; and the drives will not re-format (Windows or MAC environments).

I've easily spent over 50 hrs the past few years reading blogs and trying all reasonable suggestions for this issue. Boogieman_WD's link to wikihow summarizes most answers (which I've tried all). The most common expert answers are the regedit storagedevicepolicy solution and diskpart attributes (which simply don't work on Windows XP, 7, 8 or 10) . Some say Linus is the answer but I have no Linus experience to verify their advice (and I haven't seen any people jumping for joy that Linus has solved their problem). I've read that each manufacturer has some kind of individualized secret code which they don't want to give out (not sure I buy into that one). Other people (very indignantly) say flash drives are cheap, just throw them away. Personally, I don't like disposing of drives with private data on them (even by smashing). I just can't believe after all these years with thousands of people complaining about this problem, no one has come up with a working answer or tool to take care of this problem. Experts answer this question like it has been explained many times before by linking to the same old failed answers. To be clear, if anyone has ever provided a real solution, it is well hidden somewhere within the many, many forums full of people asking for a solution. I'm tired of looking and am quite disappointed. Personally, I find this the most embarrassing non-answered question in the technical forum world. I have a hard time believing there are not plenty of knowledgeable people who can enlighten us lesser techies and dispose us of this minor plague to the world once and for all. Tom's is one of the best places for technical answers but for some reason, it is a total failure on this topic. </rant>
