I am thinking going for this build:

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB SC GAMING ACX 2.0
CPU: Intel Core I7-6700K
MOBO: ASUS Z170-A
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz

Do you have any alternative suggestions for parts around/below this price range?

P.S. I already have ssd, scratch disks, case, supply etc.

Cant Think of Any Better than This. 980 ti would be great but That's $180 more. And As Skylake cpus Don't come with Coolers so You'll have to buy one. Just go get it.
Also If you pick GSkill Trident Z then You'll Have very Good OC options Like up to 4000 mhz.

have you checked out the i7 5820k? Some 3d artists use that, professional artists use dual xeons ( or even quad). I asked this artist on instagram what he used and he said he used dual xeons for keyshot which makes sense since rendering farms in top animation/3d studios also use xeons to get the renders in much faster. But going dual is pretty expensive thats why some prefer the haswell-e cpus like the 5820k. 32gb is good :) zbrush loves ram.
