can bent pins damage cpu?

Solution
Only on AMD CPUs does it have the potential to damage a CPU permanently. On Intel it does not, but it does have the potential to damage your motherboard.
you said here ''yes but all of my ram slots work outside the case i mean on the desk so i dont really think the pins are responsible and also i have enver touched the CPU since it was installed and a professional installed it for me so i dont think he made a mistake and broke a pin or bent one must be shorting out or something ''

bent pins it would be/do the same in or out of mounted in the case ??

A short between certain bent pins, either on the CPU or on the motherboard, can damage the motherboard and CPU. Depends on which pins touch.

Since you said these are on your motherboard I'm guessing it's an Intel socket. Can you show a picture of how the pins are bent? If they aren't bent badly it's probably fine as long as all pins touch the CPU properly when it's latched in. If they are touching or bent too far, they can short or not contact the CPU properly. Could cause damage...or it may just not work at all. Depends on how the pins are bent.

Also looked at the other thread and it sounds like everything works outside the case on a bench. It doesn't work inside the case. Your components are probably fine then. Sounds like you have a short somewhere between your motherboard and ground (inside your case).

thing I also asked was did his old memory work fine ??? seems strange the old memory worked fine in or out of the case but the new memory only works out of the case ??

from old thread ??
''my technician installed them and they working and then i wanted to ugprade to 16 gb and now it doesnt boot ''

i have 4x4 teamgroup dark 4 gb which means total is 16 gb of ram memory so before i had only 8 gb 2x4 but now i wanted to have 16 gb so i bought two more sticks of the same memory but it wouldnt start and then i removed the new ones so that i had the old ones and it still didnt go to bios so i took the mobo out and put it on my desk resitted the memory and it worked then i put the mobo inside the case screw everything and it worked but if i try to change the memory or jsut resit it it wont work and i have to take the mobo out

SOunds like the memory doesn't really want to play that well, can try raising DRAM voltage + 0.05 and maybe the MC voltage the same. Never a good idea to mix DRAM intentionally - no guarantees they will play nice - even if all the same exact model
