I have had my PC for a good few years now and am looking at upgrading it for some of the newer games such as fallout 4 etc.

My budget is around £500 GBP (~$750 USD)

Any suggestions on the best way to spend my money are much appreciated.

My current specs are:

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0
PSU: Cooler Master RS-500-PCAP-I3 500W
CPU: AMD FX-6100
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 Ti
Operating System: Windows 10 - 64 bit
Memory: 8192MB RAM
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1tb

A 550w psu should support the system as Nvidia recommends a 500w psu. Also I doubt your cpu will bottleneck that gpu. However, if it does bottleneck than all non fx-9xxx AM3+ cpu's would bottleneck as they all have similar performance.

The main thing I would suggest upgrading is your gpu. with a budget like that you should be able to afford a gtx 970. Then with the rest of the money get an ssd for your operating system. I believe That power supply provides enough power but it is a low end psu and as such you may also want to get a new psu instead of a ssd, 550w should be enough if you do decide to get a psu instead of an ssd.
