Is 72w free good for my build?

Yes, that is enough for the r9-295x2.

It's recommended to have between 850w-1000w, so you're on the lower end. If you wanted to have more cushion a 1000w PSU would be ideal.

A Radeon R9-295X2 needs 52 amps on the 12v+ rail and at least a 800W power supply with 2 - 6+2 power connections.

Your RM850 EXCEEDS THE REQUIREMENTS.

RM are the greatest quality wise , get a EVGA or XFX or Seasonic.
