i bought a used board. comes with processor. cool. but looking at the CPU support / compatible list, there's a few processors that aren't supported. why?

board is an intel DG41WV, so it's LGA775. it'll support a bunch of processors, but not all of them. like, it'll support the Celeron 430 that came with it. and a few Es, and some Qs and Xs as well. but it won't support my Q6600 that i have on another board (i was thinking of moving some parts around).

what gives? they were introduced at around the same time frame...

socket 775 is spread across alot of different chipsets, some support pentium 4's, some support core2 chips. this socket came before intel decided to change sockets often, which most people complain about, but i like it, because it stops the confusion over things like this.
