Quick question about RAM

Do these two different modules of ram essentially have the same specs? Or is the hyperx fury better? Because the other one would be 10 dollars cheaper if i bought 2 sticks of it and i'd rather save the money and get a more plain looking stick than getting a nicer looking one for 10 dollars more. Thanks!

Solution
The single 8GB stick of fury is $1 more than the single 8GB stick of ValueRAM. The $10 difference comes into play when you split the fury into 2 4GB modules.

The 2 4GB modules will run faster in motherboards that can make use of dual-channel architecture, so yes, if you can afford the $10 and your motherboard supports dual-channel RAM then they will run faster.

I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean. I want 16 GB of ram so I would buy two sticks of the value ram which would be like $74 (36.99+36.99 not including tax) and would dual channel that. I would only buy the one set of hyperx fury because it comes with two sticks for a combined 16 GB being priced at $82.

You should always buy RAM in the same combined pack, never individually. Buying the hyperx fury 16GB pack is worth the extra $10 because those RAM modules have been tested in the factory and are guaranteed to work together.

For a more technical explanation of why it is so important to buy RAM in sets, refer to the Tom's Article "The Most Common DDR DRAM Myths Debunked," see section 6 specifically.

If we were to imagine that the valueram Is guaranteed to work with the dual channel, would the hyperx fury ram still be faster or would it be the same?

Alright thank you. I just assumed the hyperx ran better since its appearance was better.
EDIT: wait, even though they are both made by Kingston the hyperx is still more reliable?

If I were to get two of the valueram and I installed it in my computer, how would I check to see if they weren't working properly?

Don't get two value ram modules, $10 is worth getting the correct hardware (pair of RAM sold together) that has been tested at the Kingston factory. You would know if the value RAM wasn't working when the PC wouldn't boot at startup or would crash your programs unexpectedly.

So does that just scan my computer and tell me if my memory isn't working properly?
