I am planning on getting a r9 390 but my current psu just wont make the cut... and I am completely clueless when it comes to power supply. The power supply which I have my eyes on are:

1.Corsair VS650 650 Watt PSU

2.Deepcool DA500 80+ Bronze Certified 500 Watts PSU

3.Corsair SMPS CX500 500 Watts PSU

Will one of them suit the R9 390?

Solution
Between the three the Corsair VS 650 is the best choice. It is technically sufficient, though it isn't the best quality PSU to be powering the R9 390.

- Most R9 390 models require a 6 & 8 pine PCIe power connector and a solid 600w+ PSU. The VS 650 has two 6+2 PCIe power cables that will support any R9 model, but its internal components aren't the greatest quailty and is considered tier 3-4.

If you are living in an area with a specialized market and PSU selection is limited, take a look at this list below and try to find a PSU from either the tier 1 or tier 2 categories:

If you are in the US, here is a much better choice for a 650w model to power the R9 390:

Solution

Technically yes, it has the correct connectors. But as I expanded upon in my first post, if at all possible get a better PSU like the one I linked at the bottom.

At the same time, many people go way over the top and blow a huge amount of the budget on a mega expensive PSU - not a bad thing if you are happy to spend that budget, but there are some good units in the middle of the range.
