USB 3.0 Mostly under 1mb/s transfer speed

Just purchased a 64gb PNY 3.0 flashdrive, and is most of the time under 1 megabyte per second transfer speeds and occasionally could go up to 40.

I have a 990FX AM3 motherboard and I am plugging it into a USB 3 port. Why is it so slow?
I am using Windows 10. Do i need motherboard drivers or something?

Also: there is no "3.0" in the USB device manager list. And under univeral serial bus controllers, there is MANY different things on the list, is that normal?

Solution
The speeds seem normal for a standard USB 3.0 drive, only the performance ones get better and even then most of those top out near 100MB/s.

Anything faster tends to be in the SSD USB Flash range which are normally very expensive.
What are you transferring? With regards to transfer speeds smaller files will always go slower than larger files. For example, a 4GB movie will have a higher transfer speed than 4GB worth of 20KB documents.

From Windows 8 and on USB 3 drivers are included and not needed.

What you see in the device manager sounds pretty normal to me. Do any have yellow icons next to them or are they all normal looking?

I was transferring a small folder with 200 mb worth of data.
But I also used USBDeview and started with 40mb/s transfer speeds down to 5mb/s>
There are no yellow icons next to any of them.
I have checked my laptop and in device manager it mentions intel 3.0 controller drivers, but I have AMD and dont see any 3.0 controllers or anything of that sort. Could they be fake 3.0 ports? Thanks for the response

Just automatically updated a ASMedia Xhci controller to 3.0, lets see if that fixed it

Update: Now getting 14 to 50 mb/s transfer speeds and the test takes faster to finish. Is this what im supposed to expect? is USBDeview not very good for testing? is something still wrong?

AMD Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 AM3, It seems that I have gotten the drivers but I am only getting 14-50mb/s write and almost always about a 100mb/s read speed
