Can my system support 2400MHz ram?

So i've been playing fallout 4 and I can play it at 1080p 60FPS on high on my 2GB GTX 960, most of the time. I've been getting random lags and assumed it was just the fact my cpu (I5 4460) or gpu was maxing out, however this was not the case. Ram (8GB 1600MHz) usage is also low as well. But after doing some research I found that ram that is lower than 2400MHz will have a lower average fps, no matter on the specs. My obvious question is can my motherboard (Asus H81M-Plus) support 2400MHz ram? And will it cause any issues with memory controllers?

Solution
Nope only up to 1600.

2 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 1600/1333/1066 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
* Due to Intel® chipset limitation, DDR3 1600 MHz and higher memory modules on XMP mode will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR3 1600 Mhz.
