Wireless Alernatives for Wired Gaming Mice? Ideas? Work-arounds?

Are there any options to use a wired mouse from across the room (without using an USB extension cable)? Perhaps some sort of powered USB wireless hub might work. I ask this because the best mice tend to be wired.

I have my system incorporated into my AV System / HDTV. I currently use a wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard. But the results are not the best. In particular the laser mouse doesn't track well. I would like to improve the situation. .

What are some of the best examples of wireless mice?

Thanks.

I'm using an Etekcity Scroll M910 Wireless Vertical Mouse (60 Degree). It has a lot of extra buttons, adjustable DPI, high build quality, 10m work radius and it's the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.
One thing that I don't like about it is an optical sensor. It has angle snapping which can't be disabled, which means it's not the best option for competitive FPS games. It also has some glossy plastic parts and you have to use a third party software to customize the extra buttons. But overall I like it. Was playing some Killing Floor and it works great. Even though it's wireless the input lag is not noticeable, I think it's about 2ms (500Hz).

I have looked at some of the other Logitech mice. I have a Logitech 510wireless laser mouse now. It is terrible. The laser is supposed to be a better solution to optical tracking. But with this model, it doesn't track well on anything other than a mouse pad. So I'm not crazy about Logitech. And one pretty much has to buy based on reviews.

I haven't heard of that brand of mice. I found it on Amazon, but I haven't seen any reviews.

There's no professionally written reviews for it (only fairly positive user reviews), so it was kind of a risk when I bought it. Overall I'm satisfied though it took some time to get used to the semi-vertical shape. I've tested it about 4 meters away from my PC and it works. It also tracks on any surface except glass and my couch cushion. It's being advertised as a gaming mouse but like I said in my last post it's not good for competitive FPSs (CS GO, Battlefield, Battlefront, COD...)
