So I've pretty much picked out my entire build, but I haven't decided on a mobo yet. It's my first build and I plan to use it for some moderate gaming mainly in MMORPGs and some graphic/video/3D rendering. I'm not a hardcore gamer wanting to play FO4 and all the newest games coming out and I'm pretty new to the whole Desktop PC/Custom PC world since I've been using laptops for the past decade or so.
Here's my build:
Intel i7 4790k
EVGA GTX 970 4GB 2.0+
G.Skill Ripjaw X 16GB DDR3 1866
Samsung 850 EVO 250 SSD
WD Blue 1TB HDD
Corsair 750w Modular PSU
NZXT Phantom 410 Mid-Tower Case
some TP Link wireless adapter and Asus Optical Drive
I've snagged some good deals lately and for all the parts thus far I've spent a little under $1050 without including some of the rebates I'll be getting back (about $30.) I'm trying to keep the build under $1200, and would prefer to spend less if it's possible without sacrificing quality since I also had to purchase a decent monitor, keyboard and mouse as well and I'll be updating my desk setup.
I've been leaning more toward the Z97M Pro4, but basically I'd like to know what are the major differences between the boards?
Should I get an ATX over the mATX I've been looking at?
And is it worth the $60-$70 extra to bump up to the Extreme6 instead for moderate gaming and graphics editing?
