You can use is straight as DRAM, can use a big chunk for a RAMdrive (very handy in video editing) or as a spare drive, I do some work on sim software for a contractor, my other rigs all have 32GB and it's nothing to use 24GB and more with VMs and various projects that come in, I've got a couple clients running 128GB. There are many that use lots of DRAM (more than me) and that will continue to grow, what was it, Vista topped at 128GB, Win 7 at 192, Win 8 at I believe 512 and Win 10 up to 2T (and Win server even more, Win Server 2008 was 2T and believe 2012 is 4T. 16GB will prob be the accepted entry level in less than a year (many of us already consider it to be the entry level), even for gaming, people with 8 often run out /low with Games like Star Citizen, and Star Wars Battlefront is also calling for 16GB
