So I recently bought an HP with Intel core i3 6100 at 2.3 GHz, 6 gigs ram and integrated graphics with Intel HD Graphics 520. (link here: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/hewlett-packard-hp-13-3-touchscreen-convertible-laptop-silver-intel-core-i3-6100u-6th-gen-500gb-hdd-6gb-ram-win10-13-s138ca/10393987.aspx?path=6f939560d1146126ab49de5df6cc5bf5en02). So I'm not a big gamer but every now and again I like to play. I know this computer isn't a gaming machine but if I was playing on lower settings, what kind of games could I play? Is Shadow or Mordor too demanding for this PC? I would just like it to be playable without being an exercise in frustration. Is that possible with these specs and this PC? Are there games that it just won't play (even on lower settings)?

Thanks.

i've got an hp with the intel hd 520 and it has run everything i've tried so far...albeit on lower/lowest settings, which to me i don't care.

GTA 4, Bioshock 2, Warhammer 40k space marines, batman arkham origins, dirt showdown, fear 3. all running at 30+ FPS. GTA 4 so far is probably the worst performing of the group.

It's not a bad setup as long as your are not expecting high resolution/high settings.
If you want to play any demanding game at all you will need a computer with a dedicated graphics card.

About 2 years ago I was the same as you, I had a i3 laptop though with HD 3000 and god it sucked (my Dad said he'd get me a gaming laptop....yeee dad gaming laptop suuure...boom office laptop)

I now run a desktop I built myself with a i5 4460, 2x4GB (8GB), MSI GTX 970 4GB.

If you want to game get a dedicated graphics card..
