12GB RAM installed and only 8GB usable in Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Hi guys. I bought recently a stick of 4 GM RAM from Patriot and my windows is not using them all. It does see 12 GB in total but only 8 usable and I've tried checking and unchecking that box in msconfig but it didn't work. What can i do? :(
Here's a picture of my bios. http://postimg.org/image/cpqzqsr3t/
I just reset my bios to its default settings and now i get BSOD. Im helpless, i can t get into windows anymore. Here s what it sayshttp://postimg.org/image/a1ll8qhmf/ the picture looks like that because it would dissapear so fast so i used slow motion to get it. What can i do? I removed the ram but it s the same.

    Gigabyte 970 GA D3
  3. Just to make sure, you are with an 8gb chip and now you installed an additional 4gb chip right? If so swap the positions of the 8gb chip and 4gb chip and share the result.
