270x, 7950, or 7970. (Or Crossfire.)

Soooo I'm upgrading my rig, from a 6670 to one of the following options.
One 270x, or one 7950 for $90.
One 7970 for $150.
Two 270x or 7950s for $180.
Or two 7970s for $300.
Suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

The 7970s would give better performance, but @ $300 you would be better off buying a 390, one from sapphire would be good.

First, make sure your PSU can handle whatever you get. What brand and model (not just wattage) is it?
Coming from a HD6670, a HD7950 or HD7970 is a huge upgrade. I would not worry about running two of anything just yet.
(A R9 270x is a good jump too, but for the same price, the HD7950 is a little stronger)

Agreed. I would always prefer a single strong card over Crossfiring/SLI'ing 2 weaker cards. A lot of issues with dual-card setups and some games, especially upon initial release.

I have a 750 watt Corsair. I don't remember model off hand. And I'm looking at a single 7970.

If it is a CX, make sure it has plenty of air through it (e.g. if bottom-facing, it isn't muffled in carpet). The CX doesn't hold up well at all if it gets too warm.
