Simultaneous Access to internet through Wifi and Lan ports of Wireless Router Modem

I have belkin N300 wireless n router modem.After plugging in the ADSL line provided by ISP in the ADSL slot of the device , I am able to access Internet on WiFi enabled devices. But when I am trying to access Internet on old desktop by plugging in lan cable to one of the lan ports provided in the device I am unable to do so.How to access Internet on desktop which does not have WiFi support through WiFi router ?

PS : Desktop is connecting well to internet through an old ADSL one port modem .

Is the desktop set to get an IP via DHCP or do you have it statically set?
If you have a static IP on the desktop, set it to DHCP and then open a command prompt and run "ipconfig /release" and then "ipconfig /renew" (without quotes) and see if that helps.

SHOULD work. This should be plug&play. Am afraid you may have to go into configuration, read the manual [gasp!] and find out whether the port(s) are somehow disabled.

Stupid question: try another cable yet?

Your desktop could be configured to do PPPoE handshake with the modem, and when unable just to refuse working.
Open command prompt on both working (WiFi) device, and non-working (Ethernet), and compare outputs of "ifconfig" command.
