Approximate Purchase Date: foreseeable future, I'm sorry that I can't really be more specific

Budget Range:ranges from 400 to 900 euro (e.g.: 300-400) after rebates and shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, internet, watching movies, general household usage

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Location: Ghent, Belgium

Parts Preferences: brand doesn't really matter

Overclocking: probably not, but if it's possible, then yes

SLI or Crossfire: no

Your Monitor Resolution: 1440x900 this or near enough

Additional Comments: Looks are not that important to me, but I do simple sleek cases.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: The current pc of the household was bought in a hurry a few years back by my mom. It's a hp oem (pavilion 500 or near enough). And even though it never was very powerful, it could run what I wanted. But lately it's has begun slowing down immensely and it experienced a number of crashes and safe boot ups. So because the inevitable end is coming I wanted to be prepared when it happens. So I can build a new one that is way better for (about) the same amount of money. I also want to prevent my mother from making the same mistake again.

I already did some research myself but I can definitely use some help. And I know this build is over budget (not that I really have a set budget yet) and it might not be the best choice in components. But hey that is also why I am looking for help from more experienced people.

This build will let you overclock but not right now. You'll need a CPU cooler which you can get later for about 40-50 euros and even less.

Yeah but keep in mind that windows 10 has been given a lot of flak for features undermining user control so I would wait and keep an eye out before upgrading. Free upgrading period is till June or July 2016

For the stuff you intend to do with this is really wouldn't go with 16gb ram gaming won't use that much and you can save money for a better cooler or whatever you want.
