If i crossfire 2 270x 2gb gpu's will it total up to 4gb of graphics storage or is it better to just buy a 4gb gpu?

Solution
Yes, unless you find a rare game that uses some technique other than alternate frame rendering for CF, you will only be able to use each card's own VRAM to render each frame. No doubling RAM in SLI.
I would think that 2 x GTX 270X are far enough up the food chain to produce smooth gaming at 1080p. Micro-stutter shouldn't be too much of an issue. But be sure your board does CF at X8, X8 lanes or better. If your board is one of those that does it at x16, x14 you will have poor performance.
