So I'm looking to buy a new graphics card. I have a 300-500CDN price range and I have no clue what to buy. I'm currently flip flopping between the GTX 970 and the R9 390 but I'm open to suggestions.
My current specs
10GB DDR3 Ram
AMD-FX-8350 4.0 GHZ
I personally would go with the GTX 970 over the r9 390. Most games seem to be better optimized for Nvidia Graphics cards unfortunately. At least until DX12 becomes more common.

Okay, thanks. Is there a big difference between the 970 and the 980 also isn't the 970 only 3.5 GB VRAM?
The 3.5 GB VRAM shouldnt be affecting you at this point. In the future, maybe but I've been rocking one since they came out and just got a second one for SLI and havent had any problems whatsoever. Never reached the max VRAM usage.
