Is a 144hz monitor worth it if your graphics card outputs 80+ fps?

Because you're 64 FPS away from reaching the monitor's potential. So unless you want to spend a load of money to see 20 more FPS it's not worth it.

just purely for the question no, wont get the benefit of 144Hz displaying 80frames. All though looking at it the other way 80Hz/80Fps is better than 60Hz/60Fps.
Get yourself a 144Hz Gsync monitor, its variable refresh rate, you'll make use of 80FPS that way and as a bonus can go up to 144Hz if you play a game or upgrade GPU in future that can do so.
