Hey all, I'm currently looking at upgrading more or less my entire computer, and was wondering if there would be any issues with keeping my old hitachi HTS547564A9E384 ATA drive. I am going from an AMD Athlon ii X2 245 CPU, Gigabyte motherboard, ATI Radeon 4800 Graphics card to a AMD FX-4350 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor, MSI 970 GAMING ATX AM3+ Motherboard, G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (RAM), and a MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card.

Welcome to the forums!

You will be fine using your existing hard drive, but I would strongly recommend using it as a secondary storage drive in conjunction with a SSD boot drive.
Of all the upgrades you can make with your new system, using a SSD for your OS and primary programs is the single most 'Bang for your Buck' upgrade you could make.
