Got hyper 212 evo and i installed it and pc is running. But now i want to know if it "fit" right and is the cpu cooled properly. If i run torture test, the one with little as ram as possible on prime for lets say 5 10 12 houres and everything turns out without errors or warnings will that be a good enough test to see if everythings cooled properly at least for the cpu?

If theres a quicker way or more accurate please do write it. Read the instructions, watched youtube so everything "mechanical" is in place, in the right spot and turned on the right side. Checked te airflow everythings blowing in the right direction. Now i wanna be assured that its actually cooling the cpu when the cpu goes full throttle. Thanks

To add to Catspaw's statement, the only thing more a test will tell you about your cooler is that, if the CPU is running higher temps than it should, at it's peak, then you *may* have applied too much or too little thermal compound or didn't get full coverage. But as he says, you'll know if the cooler is not correctly installed pretty quickly, you won't have to wait for hours.
If your cooler is installed incorrectly the cpu will overheat in seconds, not hours when running prime 95.
Testing for hours is only to make sure an overclock is stable, for just cooling purpouses 15 minutes is more than enough.
Just keep an eye on the temperature. If at some point it stops to rise, you got your max temp +/- 3 degrees.

Thanks guys, ill run it later today when i install win 10. Will run it on clean install and see whats happening. Will be checking temps on gigabytes own hardware monitoring program. I bought a gigabyte 990fx ud3 and my cpu is fx 8350. I guess temp should not go higher than pfffft 60? 65? Think ideally it should be 50 to 55 but its prime so im guessing 10 degrees up should be expected am i right?

I believe the recommended max core temp for the FX chips is around 62c, socket temps are usually going to run 10 degrees or so above that. As long as you are only peaking at that under heavy loads you are likely fine, the chip will throttle itself if it gets too hot, it's much harder these days to burn one out unless you are doing so on purpose ;-).

Uuu nice, ty, was wondering about my cpu max temp. Still havent tested it tho since gwx still wont run on its own, will have to dwnload that microsoft utility thingy to start win 10 instalation l. Dont wanna test it on 7 cause well those 2 standalone updates for fx amd line that "prevents" win 7 to park cores. Dont want to have any interference. :) thanks all alot. Im always afraid im putting too much paste or too little or i didnt screw the screwes till the end etc, and you cant really see anything by just running windows

so the result of the tests I performed:

First the Small FFTs: Cpu temp, monitored by easy tune 6 and HW monitor, after 20 min never went above 47 C, my bios was set to "beep" if temp goes over 70, never beeped, temp was steady at 46, sometimes going to 47. Mhz were jumping from 3.4 ghz to 4.0 ghz, sometimes going to 4.2 (prolly boost mode? or hw monitor mixed something up?)

Rebooted, set my bios to alert me if temp goes over 60 C and ran the In-place large FFTs: Cpu went to 49 C but never above it, mostly running at 47 C. Ghz were steady at 4, on some tests they were jumping between 3.4 and 4.2 Ghz. MBO never beeped. I let the test run for 30 min.

So I would say that everything is working like it should. If you guys have anything to add or if you think somethings not right please do.
Thanks

p.s. my case is opened, forgot to write that, should I expect 5 to 10 C degree rise in overall system, gpu, cpu temps when I close it? Got like 5 fans, 3 are intake (one front, one side panel, one on the top where RAMs are) 2 exhaust, on the back and top back so they can clear the temp that goes out of evo.

Unless you're using a floor fan to blow into it, you should see about the same temps or even lower depending on the airflow. Taking the side off without blowing a fan will often cause one to be a bit warmer, as it can mess with the case fans airflow.

Im not using any additional fans outside those inside a case. But have another question. I realized i didnt put 2 screwes when i "installed" mbo to the case and since i had time now i decided to do it. Unplugged everything besides cooler. Uncrewed mbo, i removed it from the case by holding it for the cooler since i dont have much room for hands. Screwed the 2 missing "case screwes shelve the thing that holds the mbo "in air"", not directly on the back of the case. Put the mbo back into the case the way it came out, by holding it to cooler. Screwed everything back, plugged everything in, tighten the cooler but it didnt need tightning and puf rig started for a sec and shut itself down.

Soo i started it again, this time i got to bios logo then shut down happened, third time i got to win, opened hw monitor to see whats happening only got 2 cores running at 4 ghz, the rest were on 1.3 ghz. Restarted and now everythings back to "normal". Running prime now and temps are stable at 46. Buuuut that shouldnt have happened right? Did i screwed soumething up, besides the screwes??

Ok this cannot be good, i just got the message that the main bios is corrupted and that the sys will recover from backup bios. What the hell did i do? I couldnt have fried it with static cause i was grounded the whole time. I used screwdriver with magnetic tip but i read it here that its ok to use it since the magnet isnt that powerfull. Anyone got any idea?

It happens when wrong settings and/or overclock. Once or twice that happens BIOS pulls a spare one instead.
Try with Advanced settings and start from there. Do you have everything set to Auto ?
Make sure you don't pres F12 while in BIOS, that writes current settings (even if wrong) in spare BIOS.

Eh forgot to write it here, i posted on mbo part of the forum and so far got that fixed. I might screwed something too tight. I loosened everything up from mbo screwes to cooler and tighten it just a little. Put everything back, powered it and it ran normally. Will monitor it further and if something wierd happens will write again.

Thanks again guys. Run prime again and all temps are ok.
