I recently purchased a MyCloud 4TB drive for my movies, music, and pictures. i have a WD black 2 TB hard drive i would like to put in an external enclosure and connect to the MyCloud unit for a total of 6 TB and am looking for recommendations. internal connection of sata III and external usb 3.0.

I have looked on newegg and amazon to try to familiarize myself a bit and could just use a direction to head.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community, carpenoctem77!

Unfortunately, I cannot give you any specific recommendations in terms of the enclosure itself. If your WD Black is 2.5" form factor, you'd need to search for an enclosure that is compatible with this form factor. Your HDD will be easily powered by the USB 3.0 connection alone. However, if the hard drive is 3.5" you'd need to look for an enclosure that incorporates an additional power supply (adapter) as well. The USB 3.0 only won't be able to power up a desktop drive. I can suggest you to take a look at a couple of threads from the community that might help you with the direction! :)
