I'm looking into a power line network adapter to connect to steam link, as a direct wired link is not feasible and I hear wireless performance can be poor. Can this be a preferred solution?

Also with concerns to security, can someone recommend the best adapters with the best security?

Thanks

It uses a form of AES encryption by default. The passwords are part of what lets pairs of adapters find each other.

It is not a huge issue because the powerline signals are lucky to work inside your house and would seldom get out to where someone could get to them. Beside the data will be sent over the internet unencrpted so you need to be sure you actually have that data encrypted using something just like https.

IP over powerline is still not 100% but I bought one anyway and they do seem to be improving but they tend to overheat very fast then you get disconnected all the time. I am thinking about modding mine and add a heatsink to it.
