Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to replace/upgrade the mPCIe combo card that is included with the Maximus 6 Impact. It only supports type B and (B+M) M.2 cards. I was wondering if it was possible to buy a new mPCIe card that supports type M native, for the better performing M.2 ssd's.

No, you're pretty much screwed. What might be possible is if the z97 Impact has an M.2 card, you could try to find somebody that's throwing that mobo away if something on it failed, and see if you could get their combo card... but there are absolutely zero promises that it would even work.

The other chance you might have is writing ASUS directly and seeing if you could buy one - I have no idea if that's even an option, but they should be able to tell you if it's backwards compatible. (Or will just say that it's not recommended, meaning they've never tried it and have no clue.)
