Im building a SFF in a Silverstone Sugo SG13 and I found a guy who would sell me his new never before used EVGA 980 acx 2.0 for $350 and another guy selling a Refurbished EVGA 780 ti acx 2.0 unused by him for $260. Assuming both deals are as I described and hardware and monitors aside, which deal is better? Thanks

Thanks for the advice. Could you please explain your reasoning a bit more? I guess I should take into account Im using a 144Hz 16:9 1440p monitor

It entirely depends on what you want out of your gaming - the 980 will be able to handle 1440p maxxed out, the 780 ti might have a little trouble.

That being said, $260 for a 780ti is a pretty good deal. Why has it been unused by him? Make sure you get him to show you proof that the card is working and hasn't been damaged by, say, excessive overclocking.

Then I would go for the 980 - or even save up and get a 980 ti - that's a pretty hefty need for pixel pushing. My GTX 670 barely keeps up at 1440p, 60Hz, so if you want really high framerates and fluidity, go with the most power you can get.

Thanks for the response. I'll be using the Silverstone Sugo SG13 either way. do you think that matters?

Thanks for replying. Im not sure why it isn't used. I'll ask before I buy it. I'll def make him show me it works too. Im getting it off Craigslist and there were no 980 TI's available. Also Im in CA so tax with all business's. Do you think I could get a never used(like this guy's 980 allegedly is) 980 TI for ~$450 if I waited a few months? Kinda dumb question but Im no expert at GPUs or CL. Thanks!

Yeah, something like that is a little questionable. You're very unlikely to get a never used graphics card on something like craigslist. As for the 980 ti for ~450, you may well be able to, but wait till right before Pascal comes out - the people who sell their graphics card every generation will cause a glut of them on the market and drive the price down.
