Full specs:
CPU I5 4460
RAM 2x corsair vengeance 4gb
PSU 500w cooler master
GPU Msi gaming gtx 970

I'm worried that my psu won't handle it, am I right?

Solution
sure. you have "stock" clocking GPU, overclocked GPU (your case) and underclocked GPU's (i don't know if there are 970 underclocked right now, but they will, probably), so they use more or fewer power. but also have more of fewer performance.

I think this is not going to be a problem. I had the Inno3D 970 GTX before i recently changed to a 980TI GTX. As far as i measured in my system it never took more than hardly 165 Watts of power. 500W should be more than enough for Maxwell and Haswell.

cooler master had a large range of products. if your PSU is one onf good quality (80+ certificate, for example) you can run the system. but you will be in the edge, so no expect strong overcloocking.

also, take in account the age of the PSU. PSU performance decay with time, specially bad ones.
