Supposed Modem problems

Hello, so recently I've been getting constant disconnects on all devices on my network. The internet will only connect again once I restart the modem AND reset the router, I've got a cisco EPC3208 modem and a TP-link 150mb/s router. I've got 2 models of the same router and I try to interchange them but the problem persists, how can I check if the modem has software issues? ( I checked the CISCO site but I really do not understand their update procedures) or if it needs to be replaced?
If it helps, the 'lights' on the router and modem do not falter when the internet drops connection.
Thanks

sounds like something is interfering with your signal. Neighbors or other devices could be on the same wireless channel as you. I'd suggest changing your channel to one less congested. The most commonly used is channel 6 because it's usually the routers default channel. Change it to 1 or 11 as these are the less used. You can also get a free wifi analyzer app on your phone to see which channels around you are most connected to.

Are you getting the disconnects being plugged in to the router or over wifi.

Could be a wonky cable between your modem and router, could someone be downloading torrents or something that is flooding the router. Only connect 1 device at a time to the router, at some point one device will either be too many, or an offending device.

Ok, so I ran on channel 11 for about 10 hours before the disconnects started, tried channel 1 but the disconnects have been near continuous, the periods of a working connection are only intervals of 5-10 mins. I tried changing the wires this time around but to no avail.
