This is my first time overcloking and i jumped straight to 4.4ghz without changing anything and I have been runing for about 30 min AIDA64 all looking good.

My average temps are about 70 but i sometimes peak at 90(3 times in the 30 min period)

I know that 70 is a pretty good temp for 4.4ghz but should i pay attention to the average or the peaks and how often they occure. I am using a closed loop cooler master single fan water cooler(Seidon 120v) Are these temps safe?

According to Intel, the safe maximum temperature is 103c before you cause damage to your CPU, so anything above 90c would be cutting it far to close.

I'd pay more attention to the max temperatures. As the saying going, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. If the weakest links of your CPU chain are your maximum temperatures, you need to keep a close eye on them.

It does concern me that this is only after 30 minutes, as it sometimes takes hours, even days to reveal the stability of an overclock. I'd keep it running at least until you go to sleep, and perhaps overnight if possible. If your temperatures still don't exceed 90c by morning, then it's probably, more or less, a stable overclock.

1 hour update: i turned on the AC as this would be a typical gaming condition and it hasn't touched 90 degrees till now tomorrow Ill update on temps and you can tell me your thoughts. Worse case scenario i drop the clock to 4.2

The longer you can test your overclock, the better.

It's unlikely that the temperatures will change, but it never hurts to double check!
