Looking to upgrade either my CPU or my GPU in my gaming PC. My PC has an i3-3220 and a 2gb EVGA 750 ti SC, my budget for upgrades is $250 or thereabouts (lower would be better). My three options I've considered are...

1. Replace my i3 with a lga1155 compatible i5/i7/Xeon if I can find one on Amazon/eBay (anywhere else I could look?)

2. Buy a newer gen processor & motherboard

3. Worry about the CPU some other time and replace my 750 ti. Where would my money be best spent? My monitor is 1080p/60hz, and right now I play PS2, GW2, and potentially Battlefront.

Thanks for any advice!

If you are getting a GTX 960 or 290x then there shouldn't be a major bottleneck because of i3's nice single core performance.

Also, using GPUboss as a reference is stupid. GPUbenchamark would be better for general understanding. Real benchmarks is what amateurs and pros use.

Your power supply will handle 960 zero problem if it has the 6-pin connector for the 960. 290x will want to touch the ceiling of your PSU but it...

Good luck :)
