My newly built PC has an issue with installing windows 7. I've created a bootable USB with a windows ISO, initiated setup, and then it proceeds to request for drivers. A quick google search tells me to insert the USB into a USB 2.0 slot (I've plugged my internal USB 3.0 cord into the provided USB 2.0 adapter) and does not work. I don't have a keyboard with a PS/2 cord so the only way to open BIOS is to disconnect all my drives and let it automatically load. My MoBo is the Gigabyte Z170mx-gaming 5, and I think it's chipset may be the problem. If anyone provides some sort of support, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

I think its kinda silly . but that tool seemed to be in the bios of gigabyte? I was looking at this

looks like some hoop jumping with out having the dvd ??

I figure in 2 or 3 years you won't go to like NVidia or any hardware/board vendor to get drivers unless its deemed as legacy . it will all come in through your windows 10 cloud based os in microsofts forced updates and you will accept them .. it will be all forced automatic just hook to your full time internet and connect to Microsoft click install [after you give them your now monthly payment ] then Microsoft takes care of the rest for you ..

I thought it was for board that had no usb 2.0 ?? looks like it don't matter ?? its all about forcing you to win-10

so far skylake don't look too user friendly

one guy in the comments claimed this '' companies like asus asrock and gigabyte already made their own custom tool to inject the drivers in the win 7 install files and it worked for me''

maybe find that tool ??

Thanks for the reply, I didn't realise skylake doesn't support windows 7 installation on on USB anymore, is it still viable however to install another windows OS such as 8.1 or even 10?

I was looking at this from evga forums they

''In the future we will release a BIOS update to enable "legacy mode" to enable USB 2.0 support on Win7 install.'''

then its there

'''The latest BIOS (version 1.04) is ready to download.
It resolves the issue regarding Windows 7 installation

http://forums.evga.com/Can39t-install-win7-on-Z170-Stinger-m2380232.aspx

so looks like evga addressed this on there boards
