I'm building my girlfriend her first gaming PC for Black Ops 3. I want to build this as cheaply as possible and get as close to 60 FPS on fairly high settings. I'm going for a red and black build, and it needs to be portable so I'm going for a micro build. I'm willing to spend a little extra for color coding. How does my build now look? I'm gonna get windows off r/microsoftsoftwareswap

CPU: G3258 OC'd to 4.2 GHz
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: GTX 950
Motherboard: H81M E34
RAM: Hyper X Fury Red
Storage: I already have an extra 500 GB Western Digital HDD
PSU: EVGA 500W
Case: Q PACK3 RD - I like the red LEDs and tinted case window along with the portable case
I also already have an optical drive. I'm gonna get a USB wireless adapter for Xbox controllers.

The MSI 950 is ok but once you get the system built OC the 950 to its boost clock and it will run basically like a 960 at its boost clock overall its a awesome build man especially just for Black Ops 3.

As of right now, I'm looking for the cheapest 950 I can find which isn't the best way to go about it. Looking at the MSI 950 which is about 130 right now. I don't have money for black friday sales or I'd get the EVGA 950 on tiger direct for 95 bucks after mail in rebate...

The one concern I have about it is the G3258. I've never OC'd before so there's that. And also I dislike that I'll be overclocking in a small case. Other than that, my only concern is that she isn't actually a PC gamer. She has every CoD game on Xbox though. So I'm trying to introduce her slowly to the world of better framerates and graphics...

swap out the h81 for asrock h97 mb. with the older h81/h87 you have to be care full to get a mb with a bios that at a rev to post the newer haswell refresh. the newer h97 will post with the newer cpu. with the power supply look on parts picker for xfx there rebranded seasonic units. try getting a 650-750w unit. 500w unit is fine for now but if you put in a 970 or higher gpu you have to replace the power supply as the 12v rail amp rating is to low for higher end cards.
