Monitor not working after installing a new graphics card!

I tried installing a Geforce GT 610 on my Lenovo H500s, but my monitor just comes up blank! I had a feeling that it was a problem with BIOS, so I went in. The only options related to video were: PEG, IGD, and AUTO. I have tried all of these but still, nothing. My monitor still works when the graphics card is disconnected, so it's not the monitor or a faulty cable. Any help is appreciated! Thanks -Oliver

have you tried uninstalling any old drivers and installing new ones ??? if not that may very well be your problem

seemingly obvious question, but:
Are you plugging your monitor into the GPU when the GPU is installed?

second question:
Do you know if the GPU is actually a working one?

1) Yes, it's plugged into the gpu.
2) It should work because I just picked it up at a computer shop a little while ago. Like I said in my original post, I think it might have something to do with the BIOS settings, but I just can't figure it out

It doesn't work because the GPU is not installed. If I install the GPU, then i can't see my screen, and I can't use the auto driver check

did your gpu come with a disk ?

Yes, it did. All it does is redirects to the same driver link that you gave me, though.
